By Elaine O’Neal and Dennis Kucherawy

On June 22nd, only five days after the world premiere of his latest musical project at Chicago’s atmospheric Oriental Theatre, Toronto raised and trained Sergio Trujillo returned home as a VIP presenter at the 2015 Dora Mavor Moore Awards.

At the ceremony, Mr. Trujillo , an honorary patron of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, was presented with a congratulatory scroll from Mayor John Tory's office by Councilor Gary Crawford (Ward 36-Scarborough Southwest), acknowledging Mr. Trujillo's accomplishments in the arts.

Canadians are proud we live in a multicultural society, from Tuktoyaktuk to Toronto, from Come-by-Chance, Newfoundland to Corktown.
Regardless of differences in our race, class and culture, language and gender, ability and our physical and cognitive challenges, we continue to thrive in a country we like to think is admired internationally.

Kinky Boots Review By Dennis Kucherawy

Song and Script Exclusive

Can you remember what it feels like... the absolute fun and joy … to bust a gut laughing in a packed house of almost 1,700 people to the point where you can’t breathe?

Well, that’s been the case at the Royal Alexandra Theatre since previews of Mirvish Productions’ “Kinky Boots” began June 16th, where A.J. Bridel, the multi-gifted 21-year-old triple threat performer, has  had the audience in stitches.

Happy Pride to all our friends and family.  This year Pride is especially significant for our American brothers and sisters. You have come a long way from Stonewall to the Supreme Court decision on Friday. Now if we could all band together as humans sharing one planet and work to solve hate, bigotry, racism, war, violence and poverty, what a wonderful world this would be. I know I ask too much, but a dreamer can dream.               Be safe and enjoy.                   Dane Taylor

On Father's Day

Written by Dennis Kucherawy
Happy Belated Father's Day, Dear Reader.

Yes, the loss and pain are still with us and we both wonder what might have been, especially how very proud our fathers would have been of Karen as she graduates from her homeopathic studies this Thursday.
So, as the sun beams down on this beautiful morning, the day after the summer solstice, the gorgeous first day of summer, the longest day of the year, we want to say:

Who’s wearing the Kinky Boots?

Who’s wearing the Kinky Boots?
Anybody know who’s starring in “Kink Boots”?  You’d wouldn't from Mirvish Productions’ (MP) ineffectual marketing and publicity.
It’s not surprising as the folks there just don’t promote cast members.  Can anybody name anyone in the all- … whoopee… Canadian cast of “War Horse”?  Who remembers Elicia MacKenzie starred as Maria in MP’s production of “The Sound of Music?”
