Sick Kids’ Fundraiser “One Step at a Time” Returns

Andrew Prashad Brings Tap-Dancing Bio to

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre

Saturday and Sunday – March 24th and 25th

By Dennis Kucherawy

Following last year’s hit premiere of his show “One Step at a Time,” Andrew Prashad brings his popular show back next weekend for three shows at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

Show times are Saturday, March 24th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 25th at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  (Approximate run time is one hour.)  Again, proceeds generated will be donated to The Sick Kids Foundation and to ErinOak Kids.

An internationally acclaimed tap dancer and multi-disciplinary artist, Andrew returns to again tell his family’s unique story.  As his press material says, “Using monologues, original songs and improvisational tap dance, Andrew shares he and his wife’s journey of caring for a son with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus” while facing the challenges of raising two daughters and maintaining his career as a professional actor, singer and dancer.

Here’s a link to our story and interview with Andrew from February 2017:

Director and Dramaturg Scott Hurst and Musical Director and Accompanist Jeannie Wyse return.  They’ve added a video component, Andrew says, “to complement each step and help invite the audience into my world a little more.  That’s the biggest change.  We’re also tightening up the script a lot and working on the flow.

“We’ve updated the last step to keep it current and expand on some of the new adventures my career has taken me on, including performing “Beauty and the Beast” at YPT and “Monsoon Wedding” at Berkeley Rep Theatre.”
